My first thoughts on other realities

Image
Augmented, Virtual or any other realities always have been amazing people since ages. Even before the concept of Internet and connected devices, ideas which revolved around using techniques to bring images and videos into 3D and higher dimensions were thought of. some of those ideas i came across and would like to share here.. Augmented reality - Wikipedia the first instance of a movie showcasing augmented reality or bringing videos to life out of an image was in 1967 tamil movie pattanathil bootham.. not kidding though.. Pattanathil Bhootham - Wikipedia this movie is about a Genie in a Jar and what magics he shows to the two people who accidentally opened the jar and left the genie out. of all the magics this one did remind me about Augmented Reality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEm9XsT8YG8 i got reminded of the Augmented Reality concept the moment i saw this video.. also it caught me thinking whether was this the idea on which people started building a technology i...

My Quora Replies

Just a few summary of Quora answers that i have written.. the questions are not mine but the answers i wrote are summarized here: Why does Indian cinema (or Bollywood) in general still struggle with film editing (unnecessary length, mandatory stupid songs even in serious movies)? My answer:  lot of people are dependent on movies and we cannot make them go unemployed. Unlike foreign countries we cannot let people go from work just like that… songs, lyrics, music, dance, fights alone comprise close to 500 -600 people average per movie.. and since movies are anyway making money (which is why they make movies with songs and fights).. there is no reason as to why 600 people should be left jobless just because they do dance and fight or write songs for a living.. movies without songs and dance and fights are also done but those are not famous anyway.. What is the reason for monopoly of "Bookmyshow" for booking cinema tickets in India? My answer:  In India nobody ...

Gone are the days when business people used only PDAs (which are obsolete) and personal assistants to do small things like knowing time, setting alarms, making shopping list, etc. The smart phones are able to do the same in the form of text based apps or some alarms features are in built in any phones, but the new trend seems to the Wireless Smart Devices which connect to other devices at home and control them. This is also one of the technologies of IoT or Internet of Things. These are some smart wireless speakers which are connected with Wi-Fi and it is able to sync itself with the online media to get information. Lets look at the main guys who are creating a market for this: Amazon Echo: Amazon came up with Echo/Alexa (Alexa is its name supposedly), which connects and controls using the voice commands given to it. Yup, its voice command capable and can be placed anywhere in a room and it can do its job. Amazon Echo also is AI and uses its Artificial Intelligence to gathe...

Lot of games in the market and it is tough to choose which ones to go for. Some are heavy graphic consuming battery consuming and some are just our brain consuming. Lets look at some addictive games which we can have in our mobile and can be played without much hazzles. The Games in this category, i would go with MEKORAMA - a 3D puzzling game. The game is so subtle and is mind boggling that it is easy to get addicted to it. The UX and UI are very pleasant and it has 50 cards or levels of puzzles and the best part is, it also provides for creating our own mazes. Each maze opens up when the previous one is completed and the mazes are from simple to time taking. The game can be made endless by user created QR codes. The game is available for iOS and Android and i feel this is a must have for any average mobile gamer to even a working professional who can take a break in between the busy work by playing this puzzling game. I tried my hands in creating a maze level but ended venting...

Funny "It Happens Only In Bangalore" Memes!

Image
This shows that our Auto (Tuk-Tuk) drivers have more experience in dealing with Love, :). Although these kind of Punch Lines would be seen in other cities, seeing it in Bangalore does feel something like a Meme.  Seriously!, when did car was considered a wheeler?? This may be a small English misunderstanding but at first glance while parking my car, it did bring a smile on my face. This is a thing which people who go through CSB and KR Puram Traffic everyday will know. This is a subtle joke about the plight of people travelling in between the major gridlock traffic areas of bangalore. -/- For latest in tech and VR follow us on Facebook click  here  for educational studies
